We had no idea how magical a picnic blanket could be (or fabric in general, if we’re being honest) until we got our hands on the goods from The Weaving Mill. They’re going to be popping up during Sunday happy hour on August 21, and they’re bringing a selection of picnic- and kitchen-friendly textiles. Upgrade your late summer picnic setup, make dinner more colorful and comfy, and get answers to your burning warp- and weft-related questions.
About The Weaving Mill:
The Weaving Mill is an artist-run industrial weaving studio in Chicago. We make projects of our own, textile and otherwise, that respond to the practice of running a small industrial mill. We design and make fabric in collaboration with other artists and designers. Working with people of diverse textile experience, we aim to fill the space between the hand and industrially made and bring the mechanics of textile production into wider view.
