This event will feature three wines paired with a trio of bites from our chef, porrons, and correct pronunciation of all this nomenclature. We also happen to be one of only two places in the Midwest that will have the Gaintza Aitako wines, so if scarcity plus deliciousness is your thing, come on down.

About Gaintza:
Tucked away on the turquoise-hued banks of northern Spain’s Cantabrian Sea sits the small yet fierce Getariako Txakolina DO. Here, sandy beaches and thick, salty air attract surfers and beach-goers alike, each in search of rough waters, rugged terrain, and classic coastline rusticity. It is also here that the Lazkano family has been farming three separate single-vineyard plots for nearly a century. The estate was first founded by Andrés Lazkano back in 1923. Gaintza is now run by 4th generation brothers Joseba and Urtzi Lazkanos. Most of the vineyards are at walking distance from the winery. The family grows 23 hectares, with 80% of them are pergola-trained. Only three plots lie on the other side of Mount Gárate, an area less exposed to the sea breeze.Their best land is 4 hectares of ungrafted vines, half of which are over a hundred years old.
